VOLUNTEER

Volunteering at the Trust.

Our volunteers enrich the programme offer we can provide as a Trust. Having the physical support of volunteers who interact with and spend quality time with participants on a regular basis, contributes hugely to the impact we can make on people’s lives and keeps us relevant to the community in which we serve.

Volunteering also gives local people the chance to give back to their community and really feel they are making a difference to individuals and groups most in need. Volunteering develops skills and gives experiences that may lead to new career opportunities or give the sense of fulfilment to that individual.

We asked Jamie (16) how his time has been volunteering on our disability programme this year:

“I really look forward to my Saturdays helping Phil to coach, the sessions are really fun and we laugh a lot! I enjoy passing on my football skills and also learning from the other team members. I didn’t have any experience of working with disabilities before I joined, but I was made to feel welcome straight away and now I definitely feel part of the team.”

We have a wide variety of opportunities that we welcome volunteers to support, including our disability programme, our Forever United programme and our work with young people in the community. To find out more about these opportunities please email foundation@cambridge-united.com
