Older Adults

Sessions for

The average life expectancy has grown 26% in over 65s from 2011-2021, with an estimated 26% further growth by 2031, with much of this growth in the over-80s age bands. In 2022, 49.63% of adults in the UK reported feeling lonely occasionally, sometimes, often or always.

Through our programmes below we aim to increase a sense of belonging within our communities, raising levels of happiness, life satisfaction and sense of worth by bringing people together through the club. 

Afternoon Tea

Enjoy taking part in a variety of quizzes designed specifically for our audience, all whilst drinking tea and coffee and eating cake. This activity takes place on the third Thursday of each month.

Bright Horizons Cafe

The Bright Horizons Café is a great opportunity for members of the local community to gather together at the home of the U’s and have vital time to talk to one other.

Community Cafe

A safe and friendly space for local people to access with friends and family, or to meet new people.

Memory Cafe

A safe, friendly space for people living with dementia and their care partners, with stimulating activities and discussions.

Seniors Lunch

Taking place on the first Thursday each month, our Seniors Lunch includes a two-course meal with teas and coffees also provided.

Strength and Balance

This session includes seated strengthening and supported standing balance exercises with alternatives for people with reduced mobility.

Virtual Afternoon Tea

An online version of our Afternoon Tea programme, providing a social opportunity for members of the community.

Walking Football

Walking Football is a fun and safe way to enjoy football with no running, jogging and reduced physical contact. Suitable for all.

Wellbeing Walk

Our wellbeing walks take us through the local green spaces in Cambridge and are a great way to get outside, socialise, and improve your physical and mental health.
