19/08/26, 12:00
We are excited to announce that our Sleepout event will return in 2027, bringing people together for one night in the terraces of Cambridge United’s Cledara Abbey Stadium.
The ‘Sleepout’ will take place on Friday February 19th 2027, six months from today.
We are delighted to be once again teaming up with Wintercomfort to raise awareness and vital funds in support of their work with homeless and disadvantaged people in the city.
James Holden, Head of Fundraising at Wintercomfort said,
“Wintercomfort are once again absolutely delighted to partner with Cambridge United Foundation on next year’s Sleepout for Cambridge.
This continued partnership, and brilliant fundraising challenge, gives an insight into what those we support must face, raising essential resource for our range of services.
After 2026’s record year, we can’t wait to once again dig out our sleeping bags and join forces at The Cledara Abbey Stadium for an unforgettable night on the terraces, gaining an invaluable insight into the homeless community and supporting two crucial local charities.”
Natasha Duggan, Partnerships and Fundraising Manager at Cambridge United Foundation said,
“We’re incredibly excited to announce the date for Sleepout for Cambridge 2027, partnering once again with Wintercomfort to raise vital funds for people experiencing homelessness and hardship across our city.
Last year’s Sleepout was a record-breaking success, and it was fantastic to see our community come together again under the cold Cledara Abbey Stadium stands to show their support for the community. We’re hoping to build on that momentum in 2027 and make this year’s event even bigger.
Sleepout is a really unique fundraising challenge – it takes you outside of your comfort zone for one night, while giving you a small insight into the experiences of people facing homelessness and raising much-needed funds for two local charities.
We can’t wait to host this event again at the Cledara Abbey Stadium and see even more of our community come together for what promises to be a brilliant night.”
By joining the Sleepout, you will help raise funds, start important conversations and show support for people who do not have a safe and secure place to call home. Every participant, sponsor and supporter helps to support the important work of Wintercomfort and raise awareness of homelessness in Cambridge.
